More about Yapak sa Kinabukasan

The page is solely created and dedicated to help our marginalized sector of Indigenous People Across Philippines regardless of tribe of ethnicity to have their voice and an avenue to break stigma and discrimination. Assist them to gain sufficient education so they can be welcomed in the and by the community where they belong.

YAPAK sa KINABUKASAN (Step into the Future) Project was launch 20th of November 2016 @ Ati Village, Sitio Lugutan, Boracay, Malay Aklan Philippines. It started as a birthday project of a certain Bro. Kevin Paune who initiated to donate tsinelas (flip-flops) and Sir Samuel M. Balintay Jr. a newly graduate of Secondary Education in Cebu who volunteered himself to do free tutorial to primary school children. As they posted on social media their intention to give a little surprise and treats for the children the project evolve into a larger event and became a charity work.

Hope that this vision to help our marginalized little children will continue to go on and so that we can teach them the spirit of self-reliance and boost their morale and not to seclude themselves from the community and choose to live in obscurity.

Yapak sa kinabukasan believes in a saying that goes "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" (Chinese: 千里之行,始於足下; pinyin: Qiān lĭ zhī xíng, shĭ yú zú xià; literally: "A journey of a thousand li starts beneath one's feet") is a common saying that originated from a famous Chinese proverb.

Yapak (bare footed) was now given a more positive definition and that is (steps). Step into the future, move forward and if we may borrow it from the Recoletos Mantra.... Adelante!

May we all help our little brothers and sisters in the Ati Community to catch the vision and move forward with dignity and pride of themselves and their culture.

Awoi Ati Awoi!
