Mission
To promote food security through research and education taking into consideration the many intricacies of providing sufficient and nutritious food to the country’s population.
Vision
The studies center is envisioned to be a national center of excellence in interdisciplinary research, teaching and training on food and nutrition security. It will be identified as a national leader in manpower development, research, policy advocacy, capacity building and knowledge management in country’s national food and nutrition security.

1. Expand knowledge base on food and nutrition security
2. Create awareness on food and nutrition security issues and challenges
3. Empower research and development institutions on food and nutrition security
4. Advocate policy reforms to achieve food and nutrition security
Objectives
1. Generate knowledge and technologies through multidisciplinary approach in research
2. Create a platform for continuing discussion and consultations on food and nutrition security issues and challenges in the Philippines
3. Mainstream food and nutrition security in curricular programs in UPLB and HEIs.
4. Formulate and advocate policies and information that promote food and nutrition security
5. Strengthen programs on food and nutrition security and safety with the participation of other stakeholders
