The third oldest image of Santo Niño in the Philippines is in Arevalo. It was brought by the Spaniards to the Philippines in 1581.
Strange occurrences had been reported regarding this image like - during the Spanish time when the Mulsim raiders attacked Arevalo, the natives placed this image on the shores.
The Muslims were not able to land because they saw " a boy in red cloak walking to and fro along the shore telling them to go back ".
During Japanese war, the Japanese from Oton went to Arevalo to retaliate a previous ambush by the guerillas. On their way, the Japanese were stopped " by a boy who stood right at the middle of the road at the intersection of Jocson and Rizal Streets ".
