More about St. Peter-ACTS Christian Academy

BRIEF HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

St. Peter-ACTS Christian Academy was formerly ACTS Christian Academy. It started at school year 2004-2005, under the management of Mrs. Lolita Emboltorio, beginning with a nursery class with one teacher and nine pupils. The following year, 2005-2006, the population increased, additional teacher was assigned to handle the kinder class. In the same school year, the Preparatory and Grade School were offered (from Grades I-VI). Until such time, the management of Mrs. Emboltorio informed Mrs. Emilia Mayor to take over and continue the expansion of the school and transfer the ownership to Mayor Family on school year 2009-2010.
At first, Mrs. Emilia Mayor was reluctant to the offer but due to her eagerness and love of her profession in serving the children, she was privileged to accept the offer. Right at that moment, the contract was made and decided to change the name of the school. She then assigned her daughter, Naomi Mayor, to work for it and by God’s grace the permit was released by the Department of Education.
Changing the name of the school was done right after the turn over. The school’s name was patterned from Mrs. Emilia Mayor’s late husband, Pedro. So now it was named St. Peter-ACTS Christian Academy. The school then expanded from Pre-school up to Grade School Levels.
St. Peter-ACTS Christian Academy has been following the DEP Ed Curriculum. The school offers a general education that guides and directs children to develop their spiritual, moral, physical, mental and emotional aspects. Moreover, they can be well adjusted, mold their characters and be successful individual in the future and responsible members of the society thus becoming the world’s R.O.L.E. M.O.D.E.L’s.

Educators believe that children are born with talents. St. Peter-ACTS Christian Academy will nurture their studies and develop their good study habits thru the different school activities.
The school made some significant changes under the administration of Ma’am Naomi Mayor and Mrs. Menita Magsino, the School Principal.
In the SY 2013-2014, the new School Administrator in the person of Mrs. Yolanda Magsino continued the improvement of the school by offering Special Programs like Gifted and Talented Education Program for the fast learners and the Remedial Program for the slow learners. Cooperative Learning Team (CLT) was introduced to meet the needs of all types of learners.
To enhance the pupils’ talents and skills, Student Activity Program was offered both in academic and non-academics. All students were encouraged to join the Scouting activities and other club activities. School and community resources were utilized. Parents were also involved in the school activities. Both the students and teachers were given the opportunity to join the competitions outside the school.

The administration is trying to improve the school facilities to respond to the educational needs of the school community. In the same school year, the construction of the Covered Court was completed thru the support of the parents’ fund raising project. The Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) was organized to facilitate active parents’ involvement in all school activities especially in the improvement of instructional facilities. The EPP Room both the Home Economics and Industrial Arts Room was repaired. The Library was developed with additional library holdings. The NKP Building was renovated to accommodate the increasing population of the Kinder pupils. Fully air-conditioned classrooms were provided. School-wide CCTV was installed for everybody’s safety and security.
The school’s sustainability in terms of cleanliness, orderliness and eco-friendly advocacy was carried on by the entire Educative Community. The Do Eco-friendly Act for Reading to Enhance Students’ Skills and Talents (D.E.A.R.E.S.T.) Project was launched in order to develop pupils’ environmental concern and to raise fund for the continuous improvement of the library known as “ Encyclopedia Mula Sa Basura”. Waste Management Project was also implemented. The Student government was organized to take active part in this activity.
We believe that good education materializes if children, parents, teachers and the whole administration of this institution work together. Thus, excellence in education cannot be achieved without hard work, interest and diligent study.
The development of instructional program gearing towards quality education is a continuing process under the collaborative supervision of the School Administrator, Principal and Teacher In-charge. Through their concerted efforts the school facilitates development of instructional program through observation of classes, In-service Training Program, Exposure to other schools, and Seminars-workshops. Revision of the Scope and Sequence and Lesson Planning is done following the K-12 Curriculum. Test Construction is followed-up for its improvement. Continuous school improvement is given emphasis.
