San Nicolas Academy, Inc. was founded May 12, 1956 by some broad minded citizens of San Nicolas and its neighboring barangays/towns. Its was incorporated on May 26, 1956 under the Chairmanship of Prof. Catalino V. Morales in Board of Trustees. Co-founding incorporators and members of the Board were Mr. Sebastian L. Encarnacion, Mr. Nemesio C. Atienza, Miss Leoncia L. Serrano, Mr. Crispin Dacanay, Atty. Exequiel D. Caringal, Mr. Pedro Calapatia, Mr. Jacinto C. Mendoza, Mr. Teodoro Mayuga, Mr. Jose Caringal, Mr. Cecilio Calapatia, Mr. Gregorio De Sagun, Casimiro De Leon, Mr. Antonio L. Serrano and Mr. Casimiro Carnero.

By the regular term of the year 1956-57, the school was opened with the population of 104 students with Mr. Alejandro Reyes as the first acting Principal. The first to the third year level was recognized June 9, 1958 and the right-to-issue diplomas was granted June 7, 1960.

The school continued her operation with the population increasing every year. The eruption of Taal Volcano in 1965 interrupted the operation for a while and the decrease in enrollment was noticed the following school year 1965-66. But such was or that school year only because enrollment once again increase inspire of the establishment of a Barangay High School in Barangay Maabud.

After a few year, economic crisis was left by the constituents of the community which resulted to the gradual decrease in enrollment. Some parents who were that financially capable opted to send their siblings to public schools and others who were that capable send their private school in neighboring towns. Parents who could hardly send their children to secondary level of education, patronize San Nicolas Academy, Inc. of whom most of them are alumni of this institution wiyh the belief that their Alma Mater is an institution that is community service oriented one and offers quality education in an economical and considerate cost.
