Rice Terraces Farmers Cooperative - RTFC

The Rice Terraces Farmers Cooperative (RTFC) was formed with the mission of reviving native rice varieties and preserving the rice terraces landscape as an integral part of their cultural heritage. The RTFC has over 300 farmer members from the Provinces of ifugao, Mountain Province and Kalinga. The RTFC takes an active role in consolidating rice from its members and making commercial volume sales possible for small-holding farmers. The services Offered are buying and selling of Heirloom rice, Rice milling (using customized machine), soon to open are Micro finance Lending , Food Processing and by products to be sold at the Regional Center located at Hucab, Kiangan, Ifugao. Heirloom varieties of rice have been cultivated in the Cordillera for over two thousand years using traditional, organic farming techniques that have been passed down through generations. Traditional rice varieties are non-genetically modified (non-GMO) and cultivated sustainably without the use of chemicals or pesticides.
