Leading this Project is the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in partnership with the Local Government Units and the target communities. It offers venues for community empowerment, improvement in local governance and poverty reduction.
The project is trademarked for the effective implementation of the Community-Driven Development (CDD). The CDD approach, though faced with constraints basically from gaining acceptance from communities and LGUs, evolved from meager and humble beginnings to being appreciated and in most cases implored to be institutionalized.
The project is now implemented as pilot operations on Urban Areas. This is a new pursuit towards community development under the endeavors of KC due to the fact that the project dealt with far flung communities on rural areas since its existence. As reviews tell, the project is doing practically good in empowering communities, improving local governance and reducing poverty on rural areas using the CDD approach
