Pampangueños Catering opened its doors as a Government Caterer to Pampanga on November 17, 2009

by Mr. Michael Joseph (JOE-JOE) Santos Cruz. In the Philippines, “THE CHRISTMAS CAPITAL OF THE WORLD” is located in the GREAT City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Along with having a reputation during the holiday season, Pampanga has well been recognized by food enthusiasts as well as local natives as the “THE FOOD CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES.” The company’s name PAMPANGUEÑOS means, "Kapampangan People” derived from the Spanish era. Kapampangan cuisines, or “lutong Kapampangan,” has gained a favorable reputation among other Philippine ethnic groups. Some popular Kapampangan dishes that have become familiar across the country include Sisig, Kare-Kare, Longanisa, and Tocino or known to locals - as “Pindang.” Other Kapampangan dishes, which are an acquired taste for the other ethnic groups, include Buru (fish fermented in rice known in Kapampangan as “balo-balo”), taba ng talangka (pure fat from tiny shore crabs), and “atchara” (pickled papaya).



Pampangueños Catering was established in memory of my late father, Rogelio C. Cruz, a native of Lubao, Pampanga, and likewise on behalf of my mother, Evelina Barin Santos Cruz, who is a native of Mabalacat City, Pampanga and currently resides in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.



During the 1970’s, my parents were one of the first Filipinos to set-up a Kapampangan Tocino, Longaniza & Salted Egg dealership. In the 1980’s, our family ventured out into catering, grocery, wholesale, retail, - and import & export both in the Philippines and in Chicago. One of our biggest accomplishments is our recognition as the FIRST FILIPINO PROFESSIONAL AUCTIONEER IN CHICAGO. In 1992, our thriving business in Chicago was making headlines on many local newspapers and news agencies. During my childhood days, I spent my vacations cutting ingredients for Sisig, Tokwa’t Baboy and all types of other delicacies. As I reached adulthood, I decided to pursue a career in business, the legal system, import/export and specializing in asset management disposal, foreclosures and mergers. After a 15-year career in business and government, I had shifted to what I learned to love growing up which was the passion for COOKING!

A once hobby - that I LOVED doing in my free time now became a business. This is why Pampangueños Catering stands today -- because of a passion in cooking that has developed itself into a well-recognized and reputable food service provider. We Proudly Serve Daily to Government Agencies: Breakfast, Lunch, and Merienda. Along with daily food service, Pampangueños also caters to national and provincial government events as well as other local government venues. In 2013, we expanded to the private sector catering to banks, corporations, medical centers, and private individuals within Pampanga. We are open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, merienda and dinner from Mondays through Fridays. Our menu can be enjoyed by all people…individuals, families, and friends with all types of taste buds to satisfy any craving!
