HISTORY OF MALILICO FOURSQUARE GOSPEL CHURCH

Psalms 84:10- “Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked”.
In keeping with spirit of this scripture, Ferrol Foursquare Church was organized in 1982 under the leadership of Pastor William Formento. Having devoted his life to making the most of every opportunity to spread the gospel in Brgy. Recto, Ferrol, Romblon and Malilico, Odiongan, Romblon.

The first converted to the Lord was Brad Pancing Tayco and his family. Brother Perfecto Tayco and Bro. Antonio Faclarin became elders of the church during the time. There were 80 members of the church at this time. One of the unique things about the church that strikes a visitor is the number of young people, both married couples and singles, who are active members of Malilico. That is usually a sign of a vital, spirited, growing congregation, and is an attractive situation for people who are looking for a church home. The first church established in 1984, in the same year congregation of Ferrol unites their spirit in the Lord to build temporary church in Malilico, Odiongan. Romblon. On Feb.25,1984,the congregation built the church building made of bamboo and wood materials. It was located at Masangcay’s lot. During the time Sis.Pacer Sodoy and Sis Norma Faclarin as tenants of this lot.

Pastor Grace Gervacio continued the ministry of God in this area on 1986-1990 and to follow this by Pastor Luis Galicia from 1990-1993 during the time He is pastor also of Anahao Foursquare Church and after his term, succeeded by Pastor Ely Escarilla, he served the church for three years from 1994-1996 and then followed by Ptr. Eva Solano from 1997-2011. Church growth prompted a need for a new building, and the Councils was formed in 2001 to begin consideration of the needs and possibilities for a new church facility. During the time of Pastora Eva Solano, malilico was blessed by the Lord and she continued to construct new building in helping with Brad Levi and Sis Helen Irao Elizaga given an amount for construction materials. Our first new building was dedicated in March of 2002.

Brother Abiel Escarilla served as pastor for one year in 2012 followed by Pastor Jan Hernandez from 2013 until now.

Through the years we have prospered as a congregation in many ways. While we feel privileged and happy to have such a sterling record, we understand God's call to us is to continue ministering His life and blessings in ever-increasing ways. We recognize that the role of the church is not to be a depository of God's blessings, but a distribution point for them through many different types of ministry. It is the prayer of those who live the current history of this church that God will use and guide us in such a manner as to make Malilico Foursquare Church a place of salvation, comfort, and love for all of those whom it reaches.
