Lorraine Technical School

The story of Lorraine is unique in its beginnings - through its founder, Loreta Layug Razon, one woman, who at a very young age, started it all with her sewing machine in 1947. On her own, in a town in Pampanga, people came to her to learn how to sew. The students eventually became teachers, others put up their own shops and became local entrepreneurs. A livelihood was borne out of the skills that the founder imparted. She shared with her students the values that she exemplified, in the way that she taught, did her work, and carried herself, by closely working with her students.

It was a simple act of sharing one’s talents and knowledge and loving one’s work that has changed many people’s lives for the better - a testament to a person’s dignity and singular character, that one person can make a difference and shape the world around her.

From then on, there have been hundreds of thousands of students and hundreds of teachers and staff, who’ve passed through the school’s five branches and have gone on to make a life for themselves. As the world economy grew, many have joined corporations, with some becoming leaders in their industries, here in the Philippines or abroad, being of service to others, and contributing to their communities and society.

Today, we carry forward our values and traditions. We are part of a bigger community and wider network of students, trainers, industry professionals, business owners, local officials, corporate executives and managers, and school administrators.
