More about Kawasaki Fury 125 Mods

Kawasaki Fury 125cc is one of the popular underbone motorcycles in the Philippines due to its stylish and appealing design. Its build and design gave owners a lot of ideas on how they can modify and customize their Furies to make them look even more appealing.

There are actually two types of modification, Physical Modification and Performance Modification. Physical modification covers all kinds of modifications to the physical structure of the motorcycle. On the other hand, performance modification covers all the modifications to the engine to improve the speed of the motorcycle.

There are several reasons why we want to modify our motorcycles. The most obvious reason is we want to improve the appearance by upgrading parts that are manufactured by third-party manufacturers. Repainting the color of the body is also one way of improving the appearance of the motorcycle. When a motorcycle is left unmodified, it gives us a feeling that the motorcycle is still owned by the manufacturer. Another reason is convenience. A newly-bought unit does not mean that it is already perfect, there will be some areas that you need to modify to make them more convenient. A good example of this is changing the stock head light with an HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlight to have a clearer vision on dark roads.

Kawasaki released two types of Fury: Fury R and Fury Classic. Some distributors may refer to them as Fury A and Fury B. In other countries like Indonesia and Malaysia, it has different names Kawasaki Athlete 125 and Kawasaki Neo 125.

Update - Last 2012, Kawasaki released a special edition of Fury 125 having a brand-new design but still identical to the original design.

There are 3 apparent discrepancies between Fury Classic and Fury R. Fury Classic features spoke type wheels, rear drum brake, and a standard quality swing arm. On the other hand, the Fury R features mag wheels, rear disk brake, and a smooth finish swing arm. Basically, both models provide the same performance but are sold in different prices. The Fury R is usually sold around 75, 000 Php while Fury classic is around 65, 000 Php.

Which Model Should I Buy?

Your decision will always depend on your budget. As a friendly advice, going for the Fury R is the best decision. If you intend to modify your motorcycle, then a Fury R will save you money, time, and effort. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong when you choose Fury Classic. However, it requires a lot of work to modify Fury Classic. This is not a bad thing because you will learn a lot of things along the way.
