The Institute of Human Genetics is the largest provider of medical, laboratory and diagnostic genetic services in the country. Over 100 people working in the institute consisting of geneticists, physicians, nurses, medical technicians, biochemists, chemists, biologists and administrative support staff are dedicated to bringing genomic medicine closer to the Filipino people.
There are seven units in the Institute providing world-class service: Biochemical Genetics Laboratory, Clinical Genetics and Research Unit, Cytogenetics Laboratory, Molecular Genetics Laboratory, Microarray Core Laboratory, Newborn Screening Center-NIH, Hemoglobinopathy Confirmatory Laboratory, and the Administrative Unit. Together, they are committed to bringing leadership in genetic technology and research, excellence in training and education and comprehensive patient care and family support.
