Hospital of the Infant Jesus

The hospital of the Infant Jesus started as a sixteen-bed facility at 1533 dimasalang st, just across the present site of the hospital. Blessed by His Eminence Cardinal Santos on Sept. 20, 1961, it was known as the Clinic of the Infant Jesus. Almost all its patients were infants and children. Four years later two storeys were added increasing the hospital's bed capacity to forty.

In May 22, 1968 The building at 1556 Laong Laan street was blessed. This four storey building increased the bed capacity by seventy and the nursery to twenty. It then became the Hospital of the Infant Jesus, majority of the patients were still infants and children. The Hospital was then classified as a special tertiary hospital.
In March 29, 1984 the ownership of the hospital was converted from single proprietorship to family corporation.
In 1993, the hospital acquired an adjacent adn bigger lot on which a new building was erected. Renowned medical practitioners were invited to practice and invest in the corporation. The annex was blesssed on Sept. 20, 1995, the bed capacity is 140. The entire fourth floor of the annex houses the Operating and Recovery Room and the Eye Center.The hospital has residency training programs in Pediatrics, Ophthalmology and Family Medicine.
The Hospital celebrated its 50th anniversary last Sept. 20, 2012. The now 140 bed hospital is a general tertiary hospital. At the forefront is its founder, DR. ROLANDO S. SONGCO, a pediatrician who at 86 continues to see both out and in-patients, actively oversees the training of Pediatric residents. Fondly called "Tatay" graduate residents always looked to their "Tatay" as their mentor and inspiration. With "Tatay" leading the employees, service has been built on the Hospitals Mission.
