Haim Chicken, founded on January 17, 1999 is a restaurant in Palawan that promotes cultural awareness and local art. It is located at 294 Manalo Extension, Puerto Princesa City. “Haim” means “new beginning”.
The original name when the restaurant opened is Haim Chicken Inato. “Inato” is a Dumaguete (Visaya) chicken recipe. During the first 2 years of operation the restaurant maintained the Inato recipe until the original cook of the sauce parted ways with the company. It is during this time the recipe was reinvented to what is now known as “Haim Chicken”.
Haim Chicken’s restaurant ambience showcases Palaweño culture, history, attractions and trivias. It is also a promotional hub for the art scene having a collection of commissioned works from different local artists of Palawan.
Haim Chicken’s menu has a good selection of local seafood, vegetables, chicken, and beef. Local exotic dishes like the rattan in coconut milk, sizzling ranga ranga shells, and the popular tamilok are all available here. It is also notable that our kitchen is pork free.
In January 2016, Haim Chicken celebrated its 17th anniversary with the theme “What’s Your Story?” an open ended question which intends to ask, “What’s your story in Palawan?”
