Gen. Maximino Hizon Elementary School

The earliest known record of the existence of Gen.M.Hizon Elementary School was way back in 1936. It was formerly known as Soler Primary School and Soler Intermediate School, merged into one, and was name as Soler Elementary School, which was later changed as requested by most of the Pampango residents in the vicinity to Gen. Maximino Hizon Elementary School in memory of a Pampango soldier who fought against the Spaniards and Americans.

The school’s wooden structured façade was demolished and a new three-storey concrete building was constructed last October 6, 1966 by the Santander Construction Company allotted by the Municipal Government of Manila by an Ordinance No. 5719. This was made possible through the constant follow-up of the active Parents Teachers Association headed by President Beinvinido Garcia.

Twenty-four principals as well as twenty assistant principals pioneered by Dr. Manuel Santos served and shared their expertise to build a learning institution which is a center of excellence. At present the school is spearheaded by Mrs. Josephine C. Deligente
