Care Elementary School History

Care Elementary School, just like any other schools in the most parts of the country, started merely as a primary school. It was established in 1960 with Mrs. Isabel Legaspi of Barangay Sapang Maragul as its first teacher. Mrs. Legaspi had only a few number of Grade I pupils whom she taught the 3R’s. She had a very small classroom which was made of wood.

Later on, when the people of the barangay realized the value of education, they themselves cooperated with Mrs. Legaspi and they were able to put-up a two-room wooden building. This paved the way for the new teachers to be assigned in the barangay to teach Grades II-IV pupils. Mr. Balaoing, Mrs. Hilaria Magsakay and Mrs. Longina Austria were then assigned to teach in the school. Years later, another batch of teachers came to the school. They were Mrs. Luz C. Tabamo, Ms. Rody T. Lorenzo and Mr. Federico Espinosa, who were also residents of the barangay.

Years later, when the Bureau of Public Schools, now the Department of Education, saw the gradual increase in enrolment of the school, new buildings arose which accommodated Grades I-VI pupils. The wooden building built by the PTA was ruined by a strong typhoon named “Dading” in 1972.

Care Elementary School, after being a complete non-central elementary school in 1973 held its first closing exercises in 1975. The first school head was Mrs. Milagros Supan, who was then followed by Mrs. Genoveva San Diego, Mrs. Lydia B. De Guzman, after which came Mr. Eusebio Gonzales who happened to be one of the teachers of the school. Then came Mrs. Yolanda Villafuerte, Mr. Alfredo Resultay, Mr. Rodel Aragon, Mr. Efren Fajardo, Mr. Angelito Paraiso, Mrs. Fatima T. Alimurong, Mr. Rosauro M. Perez, Eliseo S. Pangan and now the present principal is Mr. Roberto A. David .
