More about Bridges Multi-skill training Ormoc City Inc.

To assist in the economic development of Eastern Visayas and help develop a workforce for the nation’s burgeoning trade skills education, We, the BRIDGES multi-skills training school offered skilled courses to prepare students/people for entry-level employment in the skilled workforce industry. We are devoted to trained people into the level of standard technical skills and expertise.

Ormoc is among the rapidly increasing population of unemployed individuals in the Eastern Visayas, with the proportion of the work force in the age group of 15-59 years, increasing steadily. However, presently only 2% of the total workforce in Ormoc have undergone skills training. Bridges Multi-skilled Training Center has a great opportunity to meet the future demands of the country and into the world skilled workers because Philippines have already become the worldwide sourcing hub for skilled workforce.

The challenges for Philippines get magnified, as it needs to reach out to the million plus workforce ready population, while facing an ever increasing migration of labor from agriculture to manufacturing and services. With the government Technical Schools (TESDA) launching a number of schemes to empower the young workforce, the challenges magnify as there is a need for effective implementation of the Trade and Technical schemes at the grass root level with equal participation from all the stakeholders

Concerned, Bridges Multi-skilled Training Center is playing a pivotal role in this, as a ‘SKILLS Development Training Center” to address the issue of economic poverty due to increasing unemployment wherein, those potential skilled people cannot afford to take up baccalaureate degree course and those significant collaborated factors between the educations received in the school and the skills needed in the real life.

Our innovation spurs entrepreneurship and creates jobs by making life and job skills training universally available in the government aided high schools, primarily in urban areas in Western Visayas and the later part of Visayas Region. We take the philosophy of “learning by doing” and “work ethics and culture” to the urban population and assimilate them with the ongoing dynamic economic change in Philippines.

By affiliating with the Technical Schools in the government (TESDA), we aided high schools graduate in urban communities to incorporate multi-skill job and life skills training as part of their vocational courses after graduating their secondary school curriculum. We develop the curriculum, recruit the trade practitioners (plumbers, carpenters, welders, electricians etc) from the local communities and train them to be more competent and well-trained future skilled workers who are ready to work outside the country bringing the high standard of expertise and proficiency that we have been thought and inculcated to them.
