Blessed Pope John Xxiii Seminary

The High School Seminary aims at the total development of the candidates in all aspects of their personality: psycho-spiritual, academic, social, cultural physical. Necessarily, the atmosphere and spirit of the seminary much be such that promotes and facilitates the acquisitions and progress in such aspects. Hence, the total development of the persons serves as the criterion for the foundation of the following objectives:

Vocation:

To help the seminarian see whether he has the right intention and to develop the initial interest into the genuine desire to pursue priestly formation through:

acquaintance with real priestly life and pastoral activities.
exposure to the lives of saints and exemplary priest and missionaries.
building up a seminary climate supportive for each other’s vocation.

Psycho – Spiritual

To lay down the foundation on the seminarian of the true and authentic person and Christian through awareness and acceptance of self, through awareness and responsiveness to the initial call of Christ, a deep sense of prayer life, and self discipline through:

proper and regular direction
process of self identification and internalization of good values.
guided/supervised religious activities such as retreat, recollections, prayer meetings, bible sharing, etc.
meaningful celebration of the Liturgy, centering on the love for the Eucharist, and leading to frequent reception of the sacraments and deepening of prayer life.

Intellectual/ Academics

To provide means, skills, experiences and opportunities for integrating knowledge, acquired values to actual life situation and needs of society and the church through:

An academic program responsive to the needs of the present day youth.
Academic discipline and supervises.
Exposure to opportunities/activities geared towards discovery of hidden talents.

Social

To form useful and spirited citizen aware and responsive to the needs of his country and his fellow men by inculcating desirable values in the light of Christian teachings and principles:

exposure to the present political, social, economic and cultural conditions.
involvement in civic activities or participating in social action apostolate suited to their age and level.
leadership training
opportunities to participate in decision making

Cultural

To activate appreciation of potentials in all artistic fields (music, dance, drama, literature, painting etc.) particularly what is Filipino through:

exposure and/ or actual participation or cultural activities
cultural symposium, workshop, lectures
individual guidance for those possessing special artistic talents.

Physical

To ensure physical and mental health through:

athletic and recreational activities
health and sanitation program
proper nutritio
