Hi! My name is EJ Gestupa and i’m a photographer from the Philippines. God has blessed me with an eye for composition and a hand that fits perfectly with a camera. Blacksmith.ph is a page dedicated to a lot of things.

1. Blacksmith.ph manifests my love for printed photos. Growing up in rural Ilocos Norte, I spent a good amount of time staying at home flipping through my mother’s vast photo album collection, some of which are even existed years before I did. By the time I moved out for college, mom’s hobby led to a comprehensive, exhaustive library of photo albums. Blacksmith is my mother’s photo albums incarnate: a contemporary take that upholds the old art of printed photographs set in simple, minimalist frames.

2. I’m most inspired when i’m out but most of the time, being out means spending a little extra money so i started blacksmith.ph to help sustain my passion for photography.

3. My dad’s a bit doubtful of the fact that i can make a living out of digital art. While i understand where he is coming from with this, i’m taking him up on the challenge. Help me prove him wrong.

4. Blacksmith.ph is partly inspired by Filipino rapper, Curtismith. I started working on this page as I was listening to his sophomore EP entitled Falling Forward. Check him out at Soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/curtismith).

5. Finally, Blacksmith.ph is my response to God’s countless blessings. I am accountable to this skill he gave me and it is only right to give back what is truly His. To Him be all the glory!
