What is the Alvin Ray Carlson Christian Camp?

Established in 1989, the campground is dedicated to fostering the spritual, physical, and social well-being of Christians from throughout the Philippines. The camp property (roughly 1-1/2 hectares) is owned by Gilbert Bureros, who inherited it from a childless uncle. Mr. Bureros and his friends Ronito and Carlita Lisas of Bacolod envisioned using the property as a campground. They financed the installation of a water tower, and the next year the camp opened to over 200 young people. Those first campers stayed in a temporary shelter made of coconut lumber and branches. The following year, the first two cottages were built.

In 1992, Dave White of New Zealand was appointed manager of the campground. Mr. White used personal funds to build a big session hall and bath and toilet facilities, which remain usable but incomplete.

Today, the campground is used once a year as a meeting place for Philippine youth.


What are the goals and objectives of the A.R.C Christian Camp?

* To provide a welcoming place for Christians, especially Philippine youth, to meet for spiritual growth, physical fitness, and social interaction with other Christians.

* To challenge and equip Christians for the big task of evangelism in fresh, innovative ways.

* To provide a vacation destination where Christians can meet others who share their faith and values.



The special training found at the ARC Christian Camp helps young people develop physical fitness, build their skills and make friends. Best of all, ARC campers experience the joy of being part of Christ's call to proclaim the gospel to the Philippines and to all the world.

The campground is also available to the public for seminars and meetings.
