SIMCARRD

SIMCARRD Inc. is a Mindanao-wide NGO network based in Davao City implementing programs on participatory governance, asset reform, sustainable agriculture, social enterprise, and peace-building.

It works closely with community-based NGOs and POs, promotes partnership with LGUs, and help strengthen local alliances and networks.

It facilitates the empowerment of local communities through organizing, mobilization, claim-making and policy engagements. It contributes to policy discourses through action research and model-building strategies. SIMCARRD believes in active citizenship and supports reforms that would enhance citizens voice in decision-making.

Programs:

C A PAC I T Y BUILDING- Conducts community-based training, workshops, seminars and dialogues on participatory governance, sustainable agriculture, enterprise development, asset reform and active citizenship with area-based NGOs and people’s organizations, local governments, and local networks.

NETWORKING, LINKAGE AND POL I C Y ADVOCACY- Networks with like-minded organizations on policy reform initiatives at the regional and national level; promotes inter-NGO/PO-LGU cooperation and partnerships; provides specific policy research and analysis of Mindanao issues and concerns; and conducts policy conferences and forums.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE- Undertake actual social enterprise projects promoting community-based sustainable agriculture and livelihoods; access to markets through alternative and collective market engagement/linkage by local communities; and addressing sustainability issues of local service providers.

P E AC E ADVOCAC Y- Promotes community-based peace advocacy through area-based participatory governance projects, sectoral organizing along thematic issues, community dialogues and consultations, and policy engagements on the peace process and the Mindanao question.
