Maghulod Elementary School

MAGHULOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL had started from a very humble beginning. Its operation began, as recalled by aged barrio folks, sometime in the early years of 1940s. At that time, the school was just an extension of Calsadahay Elementary School since the barangay then was just a sitio of Barangay Calsadahay. There was only one teacher who held classes in a nipa hut which serve as a temporary classroom. When strong typhoons would come and the nipa hut was destroyed, the teacher would recite the class in one of the resident’s houses, remembered one of the barrio folks, until the time that another nipa hut would be built.

In 1946, the school took the name of the barangay because it was in that year when the barangay got its official name – Brgy. Maghulod. Years later, a sturdy building was finally built but the school remained as an incomplete one with a lone teacher handling one or two classes depending on the size of the enrolment.

At present, At present, Maghulod Elementary School is one of the sixteen complete elementary schools belonging to Tanauan II District. It has a total population of two-hundred one (201) pupils. Graders are handled by six (6) hardworking and dedicated mentors- all Teachers I and one (1) trained kindergarten teacher handles a kindergarten class. They are manned and inspired by their head teacher.

Maghulod Elementary School aims to develop the fundamental skills necessary to make each pupil an active maker of meaning, a self-developed person who is patriotic, mindful of humanity, respectful of nature and godly. More so, the school is attuned in attaining the Department of Education's vision, mission and developing into the heart and mind of every learner its core values.
