KKFI: Caring and Liberating Tradition of Faithful Service

Kapatiran-Kaunlaran Foundation, Inc. (KKFI), formerly known as the Methodist Social Center (MSC), was born as a response to the challenge to work among and with the poor in their journey towards genuine human development. Ms Madaleine G. Klepper, a Methodist missionary, and her friends lighted the torch of faithful Christian service that continues to be a beacon of hope for the poor and powerless.

For 60 years now, KKFi has worked as an ecumenical institution with the basic sectors of our society. In its work with the poor and marginalized, it starts from where the people are and builds on what they have. In the process, it has served as their partner in their continuing capacity-building, empowerment and self-reliance.

Imbued with the same vision and courage that led Ms Klepper to translate her Christian faith and Methodist heritage by working with the poor, the people who also became part of KKFI as well as its current corps of servant-workers continued and will continue to selflessly share their time and resources in the pursuit of this mission—to serve the disadvantaged in a caring and liberating way and to journey with them in building a new heaven and a new earth.
