Institute of Education Arts and Sciences - BASC

In December 2006, the institutes of the Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) underwent revamp for the development and attainment of the college’s mission, vision and goals as initiated by Dr. Josie A. Valdez, second president of BASC.
The then Institute of Graduate Studies, Institute of Arts & Sciences, and Institute of Education were fused in Academic Year 2007-2008 giving birth to the Institute of Arts & Sciences, Education and Graduate Studies.
In 2011, under the incumbency of the third college president, Dr. Gerardo I. Mendoza, the then Chairperson of the Board of Trustees ordered the separation of the graduate program from the Institute. The institute was then renamed Institute of Education, Arts & Sciences.




§ BACHELOR OF ELEMENTARY EDUCATION – a four-year program which prepares prospective teachers of preschool children with pedagogical and content knowledge and skills. Focus includes better understanding of the psychology of children, appropriate teaching strategies and preparation of suitable instructional materials for elementary education. Its objectives are:
© Produce professional elementary teachers who will provide leadership for the total development of school children
© Develop critical and reflective thinking skills for effective decision making
© Develop instructional capabilities and classroom management skills
© Develop technical skills through functional research and extension programs
© Provide greater access to new information, innovation and communication technologies
© Inculcate in students love for God, country and fellow individuals


§ BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (Majors in: Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, English) – a four-year program which provides academic preparation for prospective teachers of secondary education through appropriate courses in general education, professional education and field study/practice teaching. Its objectives are:
© Produce quality secondary teachers who will promote the development and well being of their students
© Enrich the curriculum in accordance with the demands of society
© Enhance and improve methods and strategies for uplifting standards and quality education
© Reinforce instruction and develop leadership potentials through the conduct of various training
© Be educators of the community through outreach programs
© Generate new knowledge through researches geared towards education development
© Establish linkages with government and nongovernment agencies to support and strengthen programs
© Inculcate and develop in students spiritual and moral character, personal discipline, development values and attitudes, nationalism, and social responsiveness
