Mission
Human ♥ Nature was created by Anna Meloto-Wilk and Camille Meloto, two of the daughters of Tony Meloto, founder of Gawad Kalinga (GK). GK has already transformed more than 2,000 slums in the Philippines and in world into beautiful, peaceful communities that are on their way to becoming productive too.

Gawad Kalinga is recognized globally as a world-class Filipino movement for nation building by everyone from Harvard University to the National Institute of Education in Singapore. GK won the Magsaysay Award, Asia’s Nobel Prize, in 2006.

Our vision is that as soon as GK villages are capable of producing our ingredients to the highest standards, we will equip and empower them to grow and process what we need for our products. We make sure that our ingredients can be sustainably grown in the Philippines by local farmers who are able to produce ingredients that meet international standards.

Through our partnership with Gawad Kalinga, we hope that soon there will be hundreds of world-class community organic farms in the Philippines providing livelihood for thousands of our poorest people as we raise them up to be world-class Filipinos.

So what is natural? Throwing in some plant extracts into a regular shampoo does NOT make it natural and probably won’t make much difference to your hair or to the planet because it’s still laden with the same harmful chemicals that strip your locks of moisture and pollute our rivers and oceans.

In simple terms, natural products are those whose ingredients are processed with absolutely NO synthetic chemicals. We all see the damage chemicals do to our environment. The only way to be certain that our families are 100% safe is not to use chemicals at all. So if natural products are so good, why don’t more people buy them? Because most natural and organic products are so expensive that only a few can afford them. Yet now, for the first time in the Philippines, natural and organic personal care products are affordable!

We also want to invest in Philippine-grown products because we are firm believers in our country and our people. Filipinos are some of the most hard-working and inventive people in the world, given the right environment. Producing world-class Philippine products is our way of loving our country and lifting many Filipinos out of poverty.
