MANDATE

DOST-CAR, as an implementing arm of the Department, shall carry out the science and technology laws, rules, regulations, policies, plans, programs, and projects; provide effective and efficient S&T services to the people in the area; and coordinate with other government agencies and with local government units in the region on S&T matters.

PROGRAMS and SERVICES
I. Technology Transfer and Commercialization
We support various MSMEs through our Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SET-UP) and Community-Based Projects under the following priority areas:
1. Food Processing
2. Furniture
3. Fashion Accessories, Gifts, Decors and Housewares (GDH), Natural fibers and dyes
4. Agriculture/Marine/Aquaculture
5. Metals and Engineering
6. Health Products and Pharmaceutical
7. ICT

II. Science and Technology Services
A. Laboratory Testing Services (Microbiological, Chemical and Metrology Testing)
B. Packaging and Labeling Services
C. Technology Training
D. Technology Fora
E. Technical Consultancy Services

III. S&T Education/Scholarship Program
For students interested in taking up DOST priority fields of study in science, mathematics and engineering in accredited Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country.
