CNHS Special Program in Science, Technology and Engineering

Castillejos National High School provides students who are competent in learning and doing Science. The school is active in joining competitions (Science Quest) both in provincial level and regional level. Recently, the school is invited by the national sector to compete in the Search for the Most Outstanding Science Club and numerous activities have been done to promote environmental awareness in the community.

In response to this demand, Castillejos National High School will implement the Special Science Curriculum (DepEd Order no. 54, s.1996) to develop advanced and scientifically inclined students who are prospective in the field of Science and Technology. Furthermore, the program will serve as the foundation of the students that will go either a science stream or a technology stream. The program could also help the students to maximize their potentials and intellectual skills through the advance science and mathematics subjects like Earth Science, Advanced Biology, Advanced Chemistry and Calculus.

And in line with the efforts of the Department of Education to institutionalize a program, under the Engineering and Science Education Project (ESEP,) now Special Program in Science, Technology and Engineering (SPSTE), of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), CASTILLEJOS NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL will be implementing Special Science Curriculum (SSC) to cater students who are mentally capable of learning and doing Science.
