According to some residents, the barangay got its name from road condition. The roads in the early times they said are very dusty. “Maraboc” is a Pangasinan word meaning dusty.

In 1900, Maraboc before is a part of Manaoag, and in 1970 the Municipal Council of Manaoag, Pangasinan passed resolution No. 29, series of 1970 seeking the conversion of Laoac adjoining 19 Barangays into a distinct town. In 1971 the Provincial Board of Pangasinan and Governor Tito Primicias approved the Manaoag Municipal Council Resolution No. 29 and favorably ended in Congress. Believing the clamor of the people as embodied in the resolution Congressman Antonio P. Villar Sr., filed a bill in Congress in 1972 which came to be known as Republic Act No. (R.A.) 6585 creating the Laoac as youngest Town of Pangasinan. However, the proclamation of Martial Law in 1972 delayed the implementation of the Law.

During the interim Batasang Pambansa, BP Blg. 18 was enacted through the efforts of the Assemblyman of Pangasinan Hon. Antonio Villar, Hon. Condrado Estrella, Hon. Jeremias Montemayor, Hon. Felipe De Vera, Hon. Roque De Guzman, which provided among others things, the holding of an election for first set of Officials of Laoac, Pangasinan. This First Elective Municipal Officials, led by Hon. Westrimundo Tabayoyong assumed on March 5, 1980 and formally inaugurated the corporate existence of Laoac, the youngest town of Pangasinan.From March 5, 1980 – present Barangay Maraboc, is a part of the Municipality of Laoac, Province of Pangasinan.
