Why PANGAMTAAN?

Pangamtaan comes from Kalaguya terminology which means “ to prove, to know or expose” in a deeper term, it may be a way or instrument to know what had been done.
In the olden days, a Kalanguya old folk would always asked a stranger. “Hipay PANGAMTAAN mi ay hi-gam kat pahad ni too?” ( What are your PROOF that you are a goodman? Further, In the Tongtongan System, which is the means of Settling problems among the Kalanguya Tribe, The Chieftain would always start the Tongtongan with a statement,” Nihayya I PANGAMTAAN tayo no hipa I toto-wa ni naamag…” (This is the time for us TO KNOW the truth..)
This is how PANGAMTAAN news letter got its name. Pangamtaan is an instrument to expose what had been done in Baracbac Elementary School; by the pupils, teachers and parents. Finally, Almost 75% to 80% of the pupils in Baracbac Elementary School are Kalanguya.
Thus, we took our pride to name our News letter in a Kalanguya Term. WE ARE PROUD TO SHOW THAT WE ARE A KALANGUYA.
