Astorga Baptist Church Inc.

Faithful men of God, earnestly and enthusiastically determined to have a church near their residence. So they decided to have a church. They were once member of Carataya Baptist Church, now Hilltop Baptist Church, Mahunodhunod, Cuartero, Capiz, 5 kilometers away from home.

With the consent of their mother church, Mr. and Mrs. Amando Basiliano and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Onato and family, Mr. and Mrs. Romeo Guillermo Sr. and family . Mr. and Mrs. Deogracias Arroyo, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leopoldo Caballero and family, with the moral and spiritual support of Rev. and Mrs. Elesio Gallaza founded the church in the year 1974. They had their church first church building on November 28 of the same year. After few months, several people were baptized namely: Mr. Napoleon Remegio Sr. and Mrs. Elpedia Remegio.

In the year 1975, members prayed, labored hard and raised funds to have a permanent building. Now known as ASTORGA BAPTIST INC.

Basiliano, Mr. Manuel Onato, Mr.Romeo Guillermo, Sr., and Mr. Jacob Onato, Mrs. Eleonor Onato, Dr. Abner O. Basiliano, Mr. Filomeno Bedona Jr., Mr. Renulo L. Legada, Mr. Cesar Fantilaga, Mrs. Elizabeth O. Padernal, and Dr. Rebecca G. Basiliano. The Faithful and Dedicated servants of God who worked as church pastors are: Rev. & Mrs. Elisieo and Nelly Gallaza, Pastor Requisita Samsona, Pastor Franklin Bering, Rev. & Mrs. Denmark & Rhodora Suizon, Rev. Armando S. Kole, Rev. Malvar Castillon, Pastor Rosan Valencia- Tabaodaja, Pastor Excelyn Celeste- Landero, Rev. Loreto Totica, Rev. Esfeamori Tandog, Pastor Vilma Resol, Rev. In the year 2003, the kindergarten building was constructed. It is also in the same year that the parsonage was renovated to provide a more comfortable dwelling place for those who serve as church minister. Members of this church, worked, labored, prayed and toiled on for this church to grow. Trials, Frustration, Difficulties as well as success, joys and victories come and go, but this church still stands firm and able, ready to labor on. Thank God He is ever faithful. In the year 2011 that was the time the church engage into in legal entity which the church was incorporated, with that there’s so many challenges and difficulties encountered the church, but in spite of that challenges God is so faithful; in June 2011 a very memorable event in the church that Pastor Stephen T. Alqiuza was ordained, one of the goal of the church is to help our minister to alleviate their status and also financial. In the year 2013 because of the wide spread of the ministry the church decided to call an associate pastor. Pastor Dianna Rose Layson called as an associate pastor for the period of 1 year
