At the Asia Pacific Film Institute, our approach to film education is three pronged: PRACTICAL, AFFORDABLE & COMPREHENSIVE

PRACTICAL – All our teachers are working industry professionals with proven solid industry experience. The lecturers vary from veteran filmmakers who are proven masters in Philippine cinema to new independent local filmmakers redefining the current industry.

AFFORDABLE – APFi has complete production and post-production facilities but does not charge astronomical rates. Our location is at the heart of Metro Manila so there is no need for students to spend for relocation and dorm fees. Our equipment and labs are always available for class projects and even approved extra-curricular projects so students do not have to spend for their own equipment.

COMPREHENSIVE – APFi students get to learn film and non-linear digital editing. They are exposed to all aspects of the industry from production management, visual effects to acting and sound. APFI has full production, post production and computer animation facilities on a studio lot complete with shooting stages, editing suites and a working film processing and kinescoping facility.

APFi film education is rooted in the traditions and practices of the Filipino film industry with the purpose of improving the local film industry. We offer an appreciation for our local cinema and pop culture but with an eye towards creating work that can meet international standards.

Every one is welcome at our film school! The management is young and transparent and the mentors are approachable. For all the hard work involved, filmmaking at its core should be fun, and so should film school!
