LEADERSHIP COURSE

The Dominican Family of the Asia-Pacific Region offers a Leadership Course for brothers and sisters in the region who are in the ministry of leadership. As the Order of Preachers celebrates the 8th Centenary of its confirmation in 2016, the Dominican Family in the Asia Pacific region commits itself to serve the Church’s call for a New Evangelization. To a large extent, the future of Dominican preaching in the region depends on the quality of the continuing formation of the brothers and sisters in the important ministry of leadership, a form of preaching that serves and empowers other preachers.The 2014 Leadership Course includes topics that will help participants exercise a communitarian form of government that is ordered towards the proclamation of the Gospel by word and work in various contexts and frontiers of mission in the region.The Leadership Course is continuing formation program that aims to provide participants with theoretic-practical resources and skills that will help them coordinate the life and mission of the brothers and sisters for a New Evangelization.

FORMATORS' COURSE

The four-week program equips the formators with the basic skills necessary to carry out the delicate ministry of accompanying others in the Dominican life. Experts from various nationalities and fields of specialization have been invited as resource persons. The program recognizes too that the participants themselves, forming a Dominican community, are a valuable source. The multi-cultural background of participants and the exciting possibilities that the future offers vis-a-vis the various elements of Dominican life are among the issues that the 2014 program explores. The integrative factor of the Dominican Spirituality translates cognitive content into behavior modification consistent with our Dominican vocation.
